Keeping on top of all the things, and learning about art selling platforms

Slayed the daunting admin beast!

Just had a huge afternoon of website catch up! It has been a long time since I did a product upload and it had become one of those enormous overwhelming tasks that just got bigger, more growly and more daunting as each week passed!

Today, I've done a huge trawl of photos and uploading to bring some of the smaller items, new pieces and greetings cards onto the website. I hope you'll find it enjoyable to browse.

Process videos

With some considerable self discipline, I have however been quite active on Tiktok and Facebook (I think my active is the algorithm's definition of inactive, but I am giving it my best!) so if you want to see some process videos please do visit and take a look.

Projects to come

There are more ideas overflowing in my mind than I will possibly ever have time to get into a kiln in my lifetime, and at the moment I'm working to balance the crazy creative, technically risky projects I want to do, some wonderful queued commisions, and getting some solid stock built up in the time I have in the studio for stockists and fairs.

I do have a new team mate, a Kilncare Profuser will be coming online imminently and there's a long list of projects lined up to get in there too.

Ways to support your local artists, and favourite artists

So much learned since launching online with this endeavour, I've learned that a major well known arts and crafts selling platform is absolutely unviable to use, as once fees and shipping costs were taken, I wasn't even covering material costs let alone any process time - it actually cost me a significant amount to make a sale. Minus profit. Not good. They take every bit of profit from your sale, and then greedily go for more.

If you love art and value artists, I would encourage you to find ways to get to know your favourite artists directly, buy direct from their own websites (this is my website) or in person so they aren't giving all of their income away to a faceless corporate global greedy entity. Reach out to them, ask them what platform to buy from so that they get the best deal for making the sale. I promise you this will be a beautiful gift to them.

On that note, please enjoy this website, it is my digital happy place compared to the 'they who shall not be named' and you're very welcome here :)
